We began our study of the essentials of the Christian faith with the Deity of Christ and Original Sin. First, we had a couple of "comments on our culture,” one on blood moons, and a 2nd on near death experiences. The video below is a brief summary of the entire lesson.
On Tuesday many people told their faith journeys. The video is a short summary of how we arrived there. This was the conclusion of our discussion on, “What is the purpose of Bible study?” From the teacher’s prospective the purpose is two fold:
On Tuesday when we began to think about witnessing for our faith. We started with a review of what the Bible says about: “How a person is saved, or brought, to faith in Jesus Christ as one’s Lord & saviour?” The short answer is that God “calls" or draws a person to Himself. (John 6:44) The brief video below is an overview. It contains the discussion and the Bible references. On Tuesday when we began to think about witnessing for our faith. It is also in the video below. I will wager that you will agree with Dr. John MacArthur and Dr. R.C. Sproul when they discuss baptism. When I read Dr. MaCarthur's comments I thought to myself, "I agree with him.” Then, when I read Dr. R.C. Sproul's comments I thought to myself, "I agree with him." Here is the kicker: they are opposing positions! |
